Also, and I chalk this up to being a complete X-Files fangirl back in the 90s, I like how you blur the lines between fae and aliens ;).

I think that came from my having recently re-read Jenny Nimmo's Snow Spider (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Magician_Trilogy) trilogy, which I loved as a kid. The first two books have some really eerie fairy/alien type children who are never properly explained.
