Right. So. This is long overdue for a comment from me.
Back in the day, when I was still trolling Fanfic.net, before I knew of the glories of LJ, and while you were currently writing this, I would pop in every other update or so to look at what you were doing, unable to help my curiosity... Because I didn't get it. I could not understand or see any chemistry between Dan and Adrian and was just baffled that anyone was writing this. But then... That was when I had only seen the movie a few times, before my wonderful obsession with it had grown to a massive height, and all I really had, concretely in my head was the absolute lack of chemistry between the two in the book. Not to mention, I had eyes only for Dan/Rorschach, and thought if Adrian was going to hook up with anybody, it's the Comedian... And yet I've avoided that pairing like whoa in all the years that I've loved this fandom.
And now... I'm ruined. You're partly to blame (not as much as Ellen is, though XD) because I *LOVE* this Dan and Adrian together so damn much. And finally, finally I sat down to read this fic the other night, from start to finish, because, well, hell, you read my crap, and, in my opinion, you're the best that there is at writing these two, period.
And this story is amazing. =3 It pleased me so much. I love dystopian worlds (which is probably obvious, given that the one fandom I love more than Watchmen is V for Vendetta) and this was just a shot straight to my heart. I was engaged by the background story, which is unusual to me (glutton for porn that I am), and I actually cared about what was going on, whereas before I would only mostly read the dialogue between Dan and Adrian. Also, it quite inadvertently reminds me of what Ellen and I are writing, and that makes me looooove it even more. I know that her Adrian is inspired by yours, and given that I love her Adrian so much, well, it brings an adoration for the, uh, source material, if you will. Also, my bleeding heart loves happy endings, or as happy as life can allow, and this fic was just perfect, start to finish. I wish there was more. *gush*
