Eee, this was so much fun! What I especially loved was the way the case and the TFW interpersonal drama wended together, both as things that metaphorically reinforced each other, but also served to drive and animate the physical course of events. The way the action fit together, and moved forward, is so tight and purposive here, and not tendentious at all--which is something that gets far too little credit when it's pulled off well! So I wanted to offer an extra shoutout for that. Sam and Castiel's interactions throughout are sublime as well; I'm reminded of that prompt from the S10 comment!meme that asked for Sam and Cas voicing their concern for Dean and exercising (or attempting to) care over him, which I think this fic suits to a T, in delightful ways.
