Oh my God, oh oh oh. This is just breathtaking. I've been waiting eagerly and enjoying all the fics going up, to the point where I kind of forgot I'd get a gift fic in the first place -- and god, this is lovely, though effectively eerie throughout. I really love your depiction of Adrian's parents, their little ghost-family, and Adrian's use of his skills as he gets older. Veidt works so well here, his awareness and intellect literally otherworldly, and his abandonment at the end is so painful, though it fits that moment in canon beautifully. Thank you so much, this is better than I could ever have hoped for.
