Being injured in the aftermath of the encounter and stuck on lockdown in the bunker is bad enough, but between attacking zombies, cultlike followers, and his tentative relationship with Dean, he soon finds that his injuries are the least of his worries.
Author's Notes: Written for spn_reversebang, for jennilah's adorable art piece, Need [link to follow]. Unfortunately I made a bit of a cock-up which I didn't figure out until it was too late to alter, so that in the scene based on the art, Cas isn't actually wearing his coat. But I hope I've managed to be faithful to the spirit of the piece, if not the detail.

This looks like it's going to be a little bit longer than anticipated; I think I'm going to have to split the final chapter, though I'm not sure whether it will take two or three more parts to wrap it up.
