This was baby’s first fandom, and I remain nostalgically delighted by anything to do with it. I love angsty fic that focuses on the fallout of the series ending, or on the problems inherent in a mortal/immortal relationship, I love a bit of horror in keeping with the tone of the manga, and I also love fluffier fic that leans into the snarky banter and the general out-there-ness of the canon. I'm fine with fic that takes place during the original run of the manga or afterwards, but I never really managed to get into PSoH: Tokyo, so while I'm fine with elements from the follow-up being included, I'd prefer nothing that requires detailed knowledge of it to understand.

I'm lumping the various accidental/unexpected tags in here, because I think they work so well to throw a spanner in the works of Leon and D's precarious truce/frenemyship. Either or both of them being taken aback by a sudden attraction -- or realisation that their antagonistic relationship was actually attraction all along? Temporary sex truce that leads to a feelings realisation? Temporary sex truce that falls apart messily after the heat/rut is over? Dealing with the aftermath of an accidental bond, or just some unexpected sex, and realising things definitely can't go back to the way they were, whether that's a good or bad thing? I love the forbidden pull of attraction to someone who should be an enemy, and the messy angst of having got involved where you probably shouldn't. For this pairing, I'm equally up for romance that does work out, and unhappy endings where it doesn't.

I think these ideas would be really fun to explore, maybe with D's species having different courtship traditions from humans and Leon being befuddled by them, or trying to help him get rid of the threat of an unwanted mate.

I think I've grouped these together because they focus on dynamics that would be slightly unexpected in a traditional omegaverse setting, and that mismatch of expectations/experiences is something I love to see explored between these characters, both in humorous ways and serious ones. Maybe Leon assumes D is an omega, or will be responsive to the same things as omegas he's known despite being a different species altogether, only to have his expectations turned upside down? Or maybe omega!Leon has been hiding his status because he's worried about being disadvantaged in his job, and D gets a surprise when things develop between them? I also love the idea of D's species not having omegaverse traits, and D having to learn to deal with them, either in himself or a partner.

The Poppy War

I love the messy and complex relationships in this series, and I think it would be really interesting to see them further complicated in an omegaverse setting! It could alse be really cool to explore how the omegaverse setting interacts with things like Rin and Kitay's bond, and with shamanism in general. This canon is one where I'm more than happy to read dark and unhappy takes, though I also enjoy a good fix-it.

I love the development of Rin and Venka's relationship through the series, right through to the tragic end. I love the fact that, even if they're never exactly friends, there's a mutual respect there, and I love that Rin never treats Venka like she's broken even after Golyn Niis. I could see them as friends-with-benefits (possibly surprised by some accidental bonding?), or having feelings but suppressing them because they don't have time for that kind of thing in the middle of a war.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

I've watched all the Captain America movies over the years and never had a single fannish feeling... and then TFATWS happened, and I fell head over heels for these two. I love the fact that they can be genuinely at odds over something pretty serious, but still have each other's backs, no questions asked -- and I love that we see their relationship grow into genuine love and trust but still with a side of snarky banter. I think they're driven by slightly different things -- Sam by a deep desire to change the world for the better, and Bucky by loyalty to specific people -- and I like that they can balance each other out that way, with Sam helping Bucky find a sense of purpose and Bucky persuading Sam to occasionally take some time for himself. I'm not keen on dark or very unhappy takes for this pairing. Angst and conflict along the way are more than welcome, but ultimately I do want them to be good for each other.

I love allll the pining tropes, though I prefer eventually-requited pining. Angst because they're assuming the other won't return their feelings and don't want to ruin their friendship by accident, thinking feelings are unrequited while the other is just oblivious, the forced proximity of working or even living together while trying to handle a crush, and in the omegaverse setting, the fear of giving away an attraction via scent or being a little too protective. It's all good.

I'm fine with a bit of angst and conflict, but don't really want very dark or unhappy takes here.
